What to Expect

Common Questions:

In our worship service, we relate and contextualize what God has done for us and the world, through Jesus. No matter where you are on the journey – skeptical about Christian faith, curious about Jesus, a seasoned follower of Jesus – worship points us to what we need…the Gospel. Our worship together includes songs, prayer, scripture, teaching, and communion.

At Pleasant Hill we want you to know that you can come as you are. Dress comfortably, pick up a worship guide so you can follow along with the different parts of the service. Most importantly, know that we are glad that you are here.

How should I dress?
We welcome you to dress comfortably and be yourself.

Where can I park?
There are parking spaces available in our lot in front of the building and across the street. If you are in need of handicap parking there are parking spaces available on the side of the building close to the front door.

What do I do when I get there?
When you walk in the front doors a friendly person will greet you, give you a program (what we call a Worship Guide) and answer any questions you may have. You can enter the sanctuary and find a seat. Restrooms are available on the main level and in the basement.

What happens during the worship service?
The Worship Guide you receive will give you an idea of what to expect during our time together. Please take a moment to complete the Connection Card that you will find in the chair or pew in front of you after you sit down. You may place it in the offering basket later in the service. The card is a way for us to learn a little bit about you. We promise that we won’t show up at your door.

We want you to enjoy your time with us so we encourage you to participate as much or as little as you like. You will have an opportunity to meet new people seated around you. We’ll give some simple instructions throughout the service to let you know when to stand or sit. During our time together we will sing, pray, read Scripture, and hear a message that is both Biblical and practical. The service usually lasts about 75 minutes. We would love for you to hang around for a little while after the service. Our people love to spend time meeting newcomers and catching up with friends.

Regardless of your background, beliefs or life situation, you will find that Pleasant Hill is a warm, welcoming community. Come as you are.

We look forward to you joining us.
